Would a fairly well educated person in their mid 60’s purchase a used car sight unseen? You would certainly think not. Insane, right? Wrong! Such was the case for me. I had been searching for a 1983 Porsche 911sc Cabriolet for nearly a year. By chance, I ran across Salerno Motorsports web site and found what I thought just might be the right one. The only problem, I live nearly 700 miles away from Rocklin, California. I started exchanging emails with Chuck Salerno. He set up a personal web site for me and sent nearly 30 pictures including the undercarriage, engine compartment, passenger compartment and others which I specifically requested. He was specific in what the deficiencies were as well as the good selling points and after nearly two weeks, I was sold. Now, I could either spend money for air fare, lodging meals and gas and drive the car home or, I could have it shipped. Shipping was cheaper. Since I had never shipped a car before, Chuck assisted me with the shipping arrangements and necessary paperwork. The car arrived at my home in Central Oregon on time and in better condition than I expected. A beautiful car and a joy to drive.
