The “G-Body” or “impact bumper” 911 was produced in various forms from 1974-1989. In 1987 the final evolution of this model was introduced, featuring the updated G50 transmission and a hydraulic clutch. These updates, coupled with the reliable 3.2L power plant and timeless appearance make the 1987-1989 Carrera’s the most sough after of the G-Body cars.

 

This Carrera comes with a clean CARFAX vehicle history and assorted records dating back to 1990. Sold new by Niello Porsche, all available records indicate this is a lifelong California car. The current owner acquired the car from this dealer in June 2011. Prior to that, the car was maintained by Salerno Motorsports from 2007-2011. During that time an upper end refresh, including valve job and piston rings, was performed at 123,729 miles. Today the engine runs strong and is uncommonly dry for an aircooled 911. 

 

This car has been upgraded with unique 7” and 8” Fuchs professional refinished by Weidman Wheels. An updated Alpine head unit and stereo system have been installed, along with a modern alarm and hardwire for a radar system. The A/C system has not been updated from its original R12 and is currently not operational. 

 

Recent maintenance includes a 15k service performed at 137,707 miles. New front strut inserts, rear shocks and four Bridgestone RE-71’s at 135,848 miles. And in preparation for this sale an oil service and inspection were performed by Salerno Motorsports.
